Pittsburgh Friends of Art Buy Work of Local Artists
Greensburg Art Club is priding itself on the spectacular success of four of its members – all of whom had paintings hung in this year’s exhibition of the Pittsburgh Associated Artists, which comes to a close in the Carnegie Galleries on Friday of this week.  In addition to having paintings by four of its members hang in the exhibition, 200 oils being selected from approximately 1,000 canvases submitted by artists of the Pittsburgh district, the Greensburg Art Club was thrilled to the fact that Homer F. Bair won a $100 prize for his painting, “To the Steel City.”
But last week the Club members had additional cause for congratulating themselves when it became known that each of the four exhibitions had sold paintings.  The Hundred Friends of Pittsburgh Art purchased 16 paintings – four of them being by Greensburg artists.
Mr. Bair sold his picture, “To the Steel City” for $75; Mrs. Fred Morgan, her painting, “The Summer Kitchen” for $100; Mrs. Paul Davids, her large painting, “The American-Slovak Church” for $150; and Alex Fletcher, President of the Club, his flower painting, entitled, “On the Window Sill” for $50.
