“Small Works”
For All Artist Market Artists!

This opportunity is presently open only to AM Members

In an effort to provide more sales opportunities for our artists and also more fine art inventory for our Gallery, the Artist Market Committee is introducing a new opportunity for 2 D artists which we will call “Small Works.” handmade, one-of-a-kind artworks. Fine art on a small scale. In other words, “Think Big. Paint Small,” or “Big Art, Small Canvas.”

Miniature Art is a real art form that has a long, rich history. Miniature art societies and miniature art exhibitions around the world have very unique art guidelines and framing restrictions. But GAC will NOT be using those.

Instead, GAC will be promoting Small Works and will have only a few restrictions.

  • The Small Work must be no larger than 8×10” framed. (Or 80” sq.)
  • The artwork itself may be very small, ex. 2 “ sq., but may be matted to fit 5” sq frame. Or, the artwork may be 2.5 x 3.5, “ but matted and framed to fit a 5×7” or 8×10” frame.
  • Canvas wrapped work should also not exceed 8×10”. (Or 80 “sq.)
  • All works must be ready for hanging or display on shelf (tabletop frames).
  • Any 2 D medium is welcomed.
  • These must be for sale.
  • You may submit 1 – 4 entries after initial entry date is announced.
  • No fees. Your Artist Market yearly fee covers all entries, including future entries in 2019. Usual 25% commission. List these entries on your usual AM inventory sheets/lists.
  • Small Works will be displayed as space permits throughout the year in the Gallery display cases and also on the Classroom Gallery shelves. We do not presently have wall space for hanging Small Works, so wall pieces will be displayed on easels. You may submit with your own easel if it is to be sold with the piece. (Mark easel included or price easel separately.)

 Imagine this collection of original art beautifully displayed at GAC. And GAC art collectors and friends will be able to buy original art for their home art collections – smaller works, more original art.
