FROM THE ARCHIVES……
This month’s ‘From the Archives’ is from the GAC history;GAC members participated in the Three Rivers Arts Festival back in 1960.  At that time, presenting artists included Mrs. John Pollins and Mrs. Fred Morgan who each had art on display.  At one point during the festival tornado-like winds ravaged the event and blew over 12 of the pavilions, damaging 50 of the 800 art entries.  Weathermen were later debating if the storm at Point State Park was an actual tornado, but nevertheless felt that it was a “miracle” that so little of the art was actually damaged.During the summers of the 60’s, members held plein aire painting outings at such locations as Faxfield Farms and the Diamond at Ligonier.Look for more “From the Archives” in the October Newsletter!!
