FROM THE ARCHIVES……

We will begin providing excerpts from the Greensburg Art Center Archives.  These tid-bits of GAC history give a glimpse into the past and maybe spark an idea for the future.

December 14, 1933, Greensburg Daily News    Interest High for Art Show

Greensburg’s second annual exhibition of paintings by local artists will be hung in the administration building, North Maple Avenue, next week.  All the paintings will be the original work of the exhibitors and no copies will be hung.  Al the paintings will continue the work of the artists during the current year or within the past year or two. Last year’s exhibition was attended by approximately 2,000 persons.  A larger attendance is expected this year and the visit to Greensburg of various art critics during the four days is anticipated with interest by the exhibitors.
