Watercolor “Taming the Beast” – Lee Klingenberg 6 Mondays 10:00AM-1:00PM Sept 21,28, Oct 5,12,19,26 $60Experience an Aha! Moment while learning Lee Klingenberg’s methods and materials for painting rich, strong watercolors. Each student will be given a brochure titled “Walk With a Painter” explaining the origins of landscape painting in watercolors, composition and value arrangements, plus methods and recommended materials. Tube colors and 140 lb cold press watercolor paper are necessary supplies. Also bring a watercolor palette and water container. Long-haired flat brushes like sign painters use will be of benefit. Beginner and Intermediate level… no experience necessary.. | ||

Drawing Dynamics – Joe Schildkamp 6 Tuesdays 4:15-5:45PM Oct 13,20.27, Nov 3,10,17 high school – adult $45How can you add strong visual interest to a drawing? This class starts with an intro/review of basic drawing approaches and practice work applied to improving your observational eye. Working with marking techniques that imply pattern/texture and value contrasts that suggest form/space, students explore how to develop their subject imagery and present it in a visually dynamic manner. Bring a regular pencil to the first class; additional supplies will be suggested. | ||
Watercolor Fall Class – Peg Panasiti 4 Wednesdays Sept 30, Oct 7,14,21 $40Beginners 9:30-12:30 Peg Panasiti will show how to start, develop and then put the finishing touches on your creation. Each week a new still life subject will be set up for you to paint with step-by-step demonstrations. You will need ¼ sheet of 140# Arches cold press watercolor paper each session along with your watercolor paints and brushes. |

Carolyn Taylor WEEKEND PORTRAIT WORKSHOP $75 Friday Nov 6, 6:00-9:00PM Saturday Nov 7, 1:00-4:00PM Sunday Nov 8, 1:00-4:00PMCarolyn Walker Taylor is an award-winning artist who lives and works in Southwestern Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s College of Fine Arts.. Carolyn is a charter member of the Portrait Society of America and belongs to the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society. This accomplished artist will demonstrate the step by step procedures needed to paint a successful portrait. Friday – generic portrait procedures; Saturday – techniques for portraits using a live model; Sunday – complete the work done on Saturday.. Optional personal portrait work will be scheduled for later in the fall.. |

Ongoing Class: Tole Painting with noted tole artist, Rose Hastings, on Tuesdays, 6:00 to 9:00 PM for painters with some experience in the craft. A beginners class may be created by contacting the instructor at 724-289-3045. $17.00 per session. **************************************************************************** Open Studio: Beginning Oil Painting with Jerry Scorpion, held on Saturdays, from 1-3 pm., is open to all interested in observing this experienced and noted artist or painting along with him. Painting sessions will start from scratch but work may be on-going. Jerry will put you at ease as he shares his approach to painting while guiding each participant to find his or her style. Ages 15 to adult. $12.50 per session.********************************************************************* Open Studio: “Paint a Masterpiece” with Nina Stahlberg, on Thursdays, from 10:00 to 1:00 offers a wide variety of painting opportunities in oil, acrylic, or pastel. This accomplished artist will guide all participants, from beginners to advanced painters of all ages.
